Dyeing the Blues
Come and explore the world of the color blue. Indigo is truly magical, whether it is traditional indigo or Japanese indigo. By why stop there ? There are three other historic blue dyes available to natural dyers. This workshop will explore the world of indigo but offers an opportunity to dye with woad, Prussian blue and Saxon blue. Each of these sources provides a different shade and when overseeing is explored, well the palette is endless. Come join in the fun and see that “not all blues are created equal”.
Experience Level: Beginner
What you need to bring: Wear clothes you don't mind getting dye on; you may bring gloves, but gloves and masks will be provided
Materials cost: Materials fee $40, which includes handouts, all supplies and a set of samples
